About Our Funders
Since 2004, Echoes and Reflections has received generous funding from Dana and Yossie Hollander.
Funding from the Hollanders allowed for the original development of all components of the curriculum, including the print guide, the DVD of visual history testimony, and the Echoes and Reflections Web site. Ongoing funding ensures that educators across the United States are able to participate in professional development programs in the use of the curriculum facilitated by trainers from the Anti-Defamation League, USC Shoah Foundation Institute, and Yad Vashem. In addition, their funding allows us to update and market the curriculum; conduct comprehensive evaluation efforts; and to provide educators and community leaders the opportunity to participate in study programs at Yad Vashem, Jerusalem.
The following individuals and organizations provide additional funding to the Echoes and Reflections project:
Nancy and Larry Glick—Long-time supporters of the ADL Glick Center for Holocaust Studies and the Braun Holocaust Institute, the Glicks have provided funding that allows Echoes and Reflections to be distributed at no charge to educators attending workshops across the country.
Howard Berkowitz—Former ADL National Chair and current ADL National Committee Chair, Berkowitz has provided funding that has allowed Echoes and Reflections to be distributed at no charge to educators attending workshops across the country.
David Strassler—Former ADL National Chair and a current ADL National Executive Committee member, Strassler has provided funding to expand the Echoes and Reflections program.
Charlotte and Jacques Wolf—The Wolfs provide funding to conduct weeklong conferences on Echoes and Reflections for pre- and inservice educators from the New York tri-state area.
Righteous Persons Foundation—Two-year allocation to conduct a strategic training and outreach initiative to expand the reach of Echoes and Reflections in the Southern California region.
Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany—Two-year allocation to spearhead a pilot project on the Holocaust to targeted, underserved areas where there are few, if any, Jews, limited information on the Holocaust, and/or the active influence of Holocaust deniers.
A donation supporting the Echoes and Relfections project has been made in honor of Helen and Abraham Goldkind. Helen is a survivor of Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen and is an active Shoah survivor speaker in the United States.
